I read this series ages ago. I feel like I have been slacking, so we are going to go through some oldies but goodies starting here. Marked is the first book in a 12-book series.

Set in a world where vampires are a known part of society, and the transformation from human to vampyre is marked by a crescent-shaped tattoo on the forehead, Zoey Redbird, a teenager who is marked by a vampyre tracker, signaling that she is beginning the process of turning into a vampyre has to leave her normal life behind and attend a special school where fledgling vampyres are trained and nurtured. The House of Night is led by the enigmatic and powerful vampyre High Priestess.

Zoey faces many challenges, including making new friends, dealing with the antagonistic and jealous popular but cruel girl who seems to have it out for her. She discovers that she has unusual powers that make her unique, which is exactly what every teenage girl at a new school wants, lol.

She forms several key friendships that are crucial to her journey at the House of Night. These friends help her navigate the challenges she faces as she transitions into the world of vampyres, and each friendship brings something unique to her life.

Zoey learns about trust, loyalty, and what it means to be truly supported. Each friend helps her grow in different ways, and their bonds help her confront the growing threats around her, making them vital to her journey in the House of Night.

As an introduction to the 12-book series, this is definitely a great story to get you suckedin. When I first read this series it was still being written so I was waiting on books to come out for a long time I am not the proud owner of the entire series and all of the novellas.

“The world is full of monsters with friendly faces.”
